FAQ

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that changes the shape and appearance of the nose, but it can also be performed to improve its function. This surgery is used for both medical and aesthetic purposes. People who experience breathing difficulties due to a deviated nasal septum, as well as those who are dissatisfied with the appearance of their nose, may choose nose reduction or another type of surgical correction in order to achieve their desired appearance and improve their quality of life.

Rhinoplasty allows for various aesthetic and functional corrections of the nose, depending on the patient’s needs and wishes. The most common changes include:

  • Correction of the shape of the nasal tip
  • Straightening of the nasal bridge and overall nasal shape
  • Reduction or increase of the size of the nose
  • Narrowing of the nostrils to achieve a more harmonious facial appearance

Rhinoplasty is most commonly performed under general anesthesia to ensure a maximally comfortable, painless, and safe experience for the patient throughout the procedure. The surgeon makes incisions in discreet locations, most often inside the nostrils or on the lower part of the nose, depending on the chosen surgical technique. The skin is then carefully separated from the cartilage and bone so that the necessary corrections can be made and the nose can be reshaped according to the pre-defined surgical plan.

Laboratory tests, an internal medicine examination, and an ECG are performed at our clinic a few hours before the surgery itself.

Patients are operated on by one of our surgeons who have performed several thousand breast surgeries. Most of our surgeons are university professors. The exact first and last name of the surgeon who would perform your procedure can only be provided once the appointment has been agreed upon and officially scheduled.

The price includes: the surgery, all laboratory tests, and one night of stay at the clinic. There are no additional or hidden costs.

Rhinoplasty is recommended only after the development of the nose and facial bones has been completed. In girls, the procedure can most commonly be performed after the age of 16, while boys are generally advised to wait until the age of 18. The reason for this is that the nose and the middle part of the face are still growing and developing before this period, and performing surgery too early could affect the final aesthetic and functional outcome. The final assessment and decision regarding the possibility of performing the procedure are made by a plastic surgeon after a detailed examination and consultation.

Rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia, so the patient does not experience pain during the procedure itself. After surgery, mild discomfort, a feeling of tightness, and swelling are common and gradually decrease during the first few days. Most patients return to their daily activities after 7 to 10 days, while the final results of the surgery become visible once the swelling has completely subsided, which may take several months.

Yes, rhinoplasty can often be combined with other surgical procedures, depending on the patient’s health condition and the surgeon’s recommendation. It is most commonly performed together with septoplasty to correct a deviated nasal septum and improve breathing, but it can also be combined with other aesthetic facial procedures, such as chin correction, eyelid surgery, or facelift. Combining procedures allows for a single recovery period and can contribute to a more harmonious facial appearance. The possibility of combining procedures is determined after a detailed examination and consultation with a plastic surgeon.

In most cases, incisions are made inside the nose, which means they are not visible after healing. When an external incision is necessary, it is usually placed on the lower part of the nose (the columella) and positioned in a way that makes it almost unnoticeable once fully healed. With proper care and following post-operative instructions, scars are generally discreet and provide a very acceptable aesthetic result.
